Crop rotation

Vegetable planting plan.

3 to 5 years ahead. Tell us what you want to grow and how much space you have. We work out what goes where, how many plants and in which year — so nothing is planted in the same spot twice in a row.

How we work out the plan

  1. The cycle has as many tracks as years: heavy → medium → light feeders → legumes. Each year a track moves on to the next bed.
  2. Crops of one family always share a track, so they return to the same spot only after a full cycle. If a family needs a longer break, the plan says so.
  3. Bad neighbours never end up in one bed in the same year. Plant count = area × planting density from the database, with no made-up minimums.
  4. When there are fewer beds than tracks, the largest bed is split into parts — otherwise a family would come back too soon.
